Description

Taxonomy Identification: Family Sphingidae. First named by Cramer in 1780.

Colour: The topside (recto) wings are brown with various darker lines and dashes. Underside wings (verso) are silvery brown.

Size: Wingspan Male 80-95  Female 100-120mm

Comments & Applications: This is a large impressive hawk moth distributed across Asia, extremely good value for money. Commonly called the Giant brown Hawk Moth. Always popular among collectors, perfect for display frames, domes, insect design art and craft applications.

NOTE: This moth is highly variable between specimens.

Format: Papered/unmounted, requires relaxing and setting
