Taxonomy Identification: Family Myrmeleontidae, Ascalaphidae. Unidentified species
Colour: Wings are semi-transparent with yellowish tinge. Each wing has tiny speckling in black withs some larger black spots.
Size: Length measuring head to end of abdomen: 30-40mm. Wingspan 100-120mm. Specimens are supplied on a card base with spread wings.
Comments & Applications: Antlions are fast-flying predators of other flying insects, with large bulging eyes and strongly knobbed antennae like a butterfly. These huge crazy looking insects resemble a giant lacewing. Seldom offered for sale – the perfect subject for the arts and design industry, photography, film, entertainment and educational purposes.
Format: Supplied in packs of two specimens. Unmounted, papered, requires relaxing and setting.
