Taxonomy Identification: Family Pieridae. First named by Linnaeus in 1763

Colour: Bright sulphur yellow butterfly with orange bar on forewing and orange margin on hindwing. The underside (verso) wings are yellow with fine reddish-black freckling

Size: Wingspan 65-75mm

Comments & Applications: A spectacular sulphur yellow butterfly with orange from central and south America. Commonly called the Orange-barred sulphur.
