Taxonomy Identification: Family Cerambycidae, First named by Linnaeus in 1758.
Colour: Overall colour is brown with dark brown, which is more prominent on the legs and antenna, causing a stripy effect.
Size: Length measuring from the tip of the head/jaw to the end of the abdomen but excluding the legs and antenna: 18-30mm

It has become a pest in continental Europe, due to the larvae eating the bark of trees. It can be found throughout Europe, Russia and Central Asia.
