Taxonomy Identification: Family Saturnidae was first named by Oberthur in 1897
Colour: A sexually dimorphic species. Male topside (recto) forewings are yellow with pink markings, while the females are a pale green. The undersides (verso) of both sexes are similar to the topsides but paler.
Size: Wingspan 9-100mm – trailing tails up to 130mm
Comments & Applications: An exquisite and much sought after natural history specimen, rarely offered for sale. Check out the amazing trailing tails and curious moon-like shapes on each wing. Fantastic contrast between the pale green female and yellow-pink males. Commonly known as the Chinese Moon Moth. Format: Unmounted, papered, requires relaxing and setting, Please note, because these are large-bodied moths, they can sometimes have traces of mould or grease. This is normal and can be removed easily with degreasing fluid.
