Taxonomy Identification: Family Saturniidae, First named by Sonthonnax in 1899.
Colour: Sexually dimorphic, males are a deep reddish brown with yellow-orange patterns. The female is bulkier and yellow. Both sexes have long trailing tails and eye markings on each wing. Underside similar.
Size: Wingspan 120-150mm – Trailing tails in males up to 200mm long.

Format: Unmounted, papered, wings folded, requires relaxing and setting – Please note, because these are large-bodied moths, they can sometimes have traces of mould or grease that can be removed easily with acetone.
