Taxonomy Identification: Family Saturnidae was first named by Doubleday in 1847
Colour: A sexually dimorphic species. Male topside (recto) wings are yellow with darker brown patches and long trailing tails. The female is also yellow but with bulkier wings, shorter wider tails. The undersides (verso) of both sexes are similar to the topsides but paler.
Size: Wingspan 100-110mm
Comments & Applications: A much sought after collectors species, rarely offered for sale. Check out the amazing trailing tails and curious moon-like shapes on each wing. Ideal for higher end butterfly framing, domes, artwork or interior design where you are looking for a more unusual species.
