Taxonomy Identification: Family Nymphalidae, First named by Fruhstorfer in 1913
Colour: Topside (recto) base colour brown with darker blackish marbled patterning. The forewing has a vibrant orange bar, hindwing has a bright white bar. The underside (verso) is a mix of intricate patterns and lines in reddish-brown with a pale white bar.
Size: Wingspan 45-55mm
Comments & Applications: These small to medium-sized butterflies are known colloquially as “Sisters”. Ethically sourced specimens. Popular with the trade for butterfly framing, domes, artwork, photography, interior design, film and general educational purposes.
Format: Male or Female depending on availability. Unmounted, papered, wings folded, requires relaxing and setting
