Taxonomy Identification: Family Nymphalidae, First named by Godart 1824

Colour: Topside (recto) wings are a lovely shade of chocolate brown with dark veins and beautiful bands of pink. The underside (verso) is a mixture of light browns with white, black and baby pink that form an amazing pattern.

Size: Wingspan 50-60mm

Comments & Applications: This butterfly is commonly known as  the Pink Banded Sister, and is found in Central and South America. Can be used in framing, domes, artwork, photography, interior design and film. Check out our range of neotropical butterflies.
