Taxonomy Identification: Family Zygaenidae. First named by Doubleday in 1847
Colour: Topside (recto) dark brown to black, forewings scattered with small white spots. The hind-wing margin has cream bars along the margin sometimes with white or blue spots. The (verso) underside is similar with extra spots.
Size: Wingspan 65-75mm
Comments & Applications: A spectacular day flying burnet moth, rarely offered for sale. Dark colouration like a night sky with twinkling stars and cream glow! A sought after collectable also very popular among framers, domes, artwork, photography, interior design and film industry
