Taxonomy Identification: Family Lycaenidae first named by Drury in 1782
Colour: The female wings are brown with a pale orange spot on the forewing; males are blue with patches of black. Both sexes have short ‘hairstreak’ style tails.
Size: Wingspan 30-35mm
Comments & Applications: Common Highflyer butterfly. Seldom offered for sale, a nice collectors species and also useful for framing, domes, artwork, photography, interior design and film.
