Taxonomy Identification: Family Nymphalidae, First named by Fruhstorfer in 1904
Colour: Topside (recto) wings are jet black with iridescent blue markings. Underside (verso) is silvery grey with intricate black lines and twin black spots on forewing margin.
Size: Wingspan 95-120mm
Comments & Applications: A large spectacular blue butterfly, commonly called the Blue Banded King Shoemaker. Not be be confused with Archaeoprepona demophon.
