Taxonomy Identification: Family Nymphalidae, Morphini. Sub-species identified by Fruhstorfer in 1916.
Colour: Topside (recto) jet black with vivid blue bar/patch. Underside verso wings are coloured three shades; pale brown, dark brown and creamy-white with various black pencil line patterns. Verso hind-wing margin has a row of white spotted brown lunules.
Size: Wingspan 90-105mm
