Taxonomy Identification: Family Lycaenidae. Named by Doubleday in 1847
Colour: Colouration topside (recto) male is purple blue, female has black wing margins. The underside (verso) hind-wings are olive-brown with intricately patterns and white dashes.
Size: Wingspan 40-50mm
Comments & Applications: A most beautiful butterfly from the Oriental region. Commonly called the large Western Centaur Oakblue butterfly. Rarely offered for sale, collectable and ideal for trade applications creating unique one off pieces.
