Taxonomy Identification: Family Cerambycidae, First named by Linnaeus in 1758.
Colour: Overall colour is metallic blue/green, depending how the light hits it. .
Size: Length measuring from the tip of the head/jaw to the end of the abdomen but excluding the legs and antenna: 30-34mm
Comments & Applications: This is the only northern European member of a small Palaearctic genus of about 10 species of strikingly beautiful cerambycids. Commonly known as The Musk Beetle, due to the smell it gives off in self defence. A collectable species also the ideal subject for artwork, photography, framing, interior design, film, entertainment or educational purposes
