Taxonomy Identification: Family, Nymphalidae, First named by Felder in 1862
Colour: The upperside (recto) of the wings is blue, with a submarginal band of the same colour surrounding the outer margin of the hind-wings. On the forewings there is a large pink patch.The underside (verso) of the hind-wings is variable depending on locality, ranging from yellow to blueish-grey.
Size: Wingspan 85-95mm
