Taxonomy Identification: Family Nymphalidae, first named by Grose-Smith & Kirby in 1889
Colour: Topside (recto) wings dark blue with yellowish-orange bar on the forewings. The underside (verso) base colour reddish-brown with whiteish patches and back lined patterns.
Size: Wingspan 70mm
Comments & Applications: A rarely offered African butterfly deep blue colours. A rare collectable species and also popular for framing, domes, artwork, photography, interior design and film.
