Taxonomy Identification: Family Nymphalidae, first named by Plötz in 1880
Colour: Topside (recto) wings black with white bar on the forewings. Blue patch on lower forewing and over most of the hindwing. The underside (verso) base colour brown with whiteish patches and line.
Size: Wingspan 70-80mm
Comments & Applications: A rarely offered African butterfly deep blue colours. Commonly called Laetitia’s forester butterfly. A rare collectable species and also popular for framing, domes, artwork, photography, interior design and film.
