Taxonomy Identification: Family Nymphalidae, first named by Ward in 1871.

Colour:  A Dark brown butterfly with orange patch on forewing.  The underside wings are bicolour with pale and dark patches of brown and olive.

Size: Wingspan 60-75mm

Comments & Applications: A butterfly of dense forest habitat. Commonly called the bicolour forester butterfly. Seldom offered for sale, a nice collectors species and also useful for framing, domes, artwork, photography, interior design and film.
