Taxonomy Identification: Family Satyrinae, first named by Rebel in 1914
Colour: Brown with white bar on forewing (pale or absent in male) and twin black eye-spots. The underside wings on both sexes is brown.
Size: Wingspan 50-60mm
Comments & Applications: Commonly known as Bush Brown butterflies. This is a unusual collectors species and also useful for framing, domes, artwork, photography, interior design and film.
