Taxonomy Identification: Family Satyrinae, first named by Hewitson in 1865.
Colour: Males are a uniform brown; Females are brown with pale white bar on forewing. The underside wings on both sexes is brown with darker lines.
Size: Wingspan 50-60mm
Comments & Applications: Commonly called the Large Bush Brown butterfly. A unusual collectors species and also useful for framing, domes, artwork, photography, interior design and film.
