Taxonomy Identification: Family, Nymphalidae, First named by Guérin-Méneville in 1844
Colour: The base colour of the topside (recto) wings is black with pinkish-red bar with blueish hind-wings. The underside (verso) forewing is red, black and pale brown while the verso hindwing is much “busier” with black lines a row of pearl white spots.
Size: Wingspan 44-56mm
