Taxonomy Identification: Family, Nymphalidae, First named by Doubleday in 1847
Colour: The base colour of the topside (recto) wings is black with a pinkish-red bar on the forewing and a blue patch on the hindwing. The underside (verso) forewing is similar but paler while the verso hindwing is much “busier” with thin black lines of blue spots.
Size: Wingspan 35-45mm
