Taxonomy Identification: Family, Nymphalidae, First named by Doubleday in 1847
Colour: The base colour of the topside (recto) wings is black with a bright orange-yellow bar on the forewing and a blue patch on the hindwing. The underside (verso) forewing is similar but paler while the verso hindwing is much “busier” with pale yellowish brown lines splashed with dashes and lines of blue.
Size: Wingspan 43-48mm
