Taxonomy Identification: Family Nymphalidae, first named by DeWitz in 1879
Colour: Topside (recto) dark brown to black wings with white bar edged in pale blue. The underside (verso) wings are silvery grey with white bar and thin pencil black lines and a row of mustard colored spots along the wing margin.
Size: Wingspan 50-60mm
Comments & Applications: One of the more unusual charaxes butterflies from Central African Republic and Cameroon. Highly collectable and seldom offered for sale. A popular butterfly for framing, domes, artwork, photography, interior design and film.
