Taxonomy Identification: Family Nymphalidae, first named by Staudinger in 1896.
Colour: (Topside) Wings have a base colour of black with small white spots and larger blue patches. Underside wings silvery grey with fine black lines.
Size: Wingspan 55-65mm
Comments & Applications: A dark coloured Nymphalidae butterfly from Central African Republic. This particular species is part of the wider etheocles group of charaxes and rarely offered for sale. One for the connoisseur collector but also perfect for butterfly for framing, domes, artwork, photography, interior design and film.
