Description

Taxonomy Identification: Family Nymphalidae, First named by Butler in 1870

Colour: Topside (recto) All wings are a navy blue with pale blue and white. This species has short tails. Underside (verso)  is different shades of brown patterned.

Size: Wingspan 85-100mm

Comments & Applications: Known as the Western blue charaxes butterfly. A popular species used in the trade for butterfly framing, domes, artwork, photography, interior design and film.

Format: Unmounted, papered, wings folded, requires relaxing and setting
