Colour: Abdomen black with yellow markings. Legs reddish brown.
Size: Body length measuring from tip of head/jaw to end of abdomen (excluding legs/antenna) 12-15mm
Comments & Applications: This is an amazing wasp-mimicking beetle coloured yellow and black capable of making a wasp buzz-like noise when threatened. Found throughout England and Wales, but absent from Scotland. Seldom offered for sale.
