Taxonomy Identification: Family Lycaenidae. First identified by Moore in 1877
Colour: Colouration topside (recto) on the male is black and orange, while the female is black and white. The underside (verso) wings are pale greyish white.
Size: Wingspan 38-47mm
Comments & Applications: A beautiful lycaenidae butterfly from the oriental region. Commonly called the Angled Sunbeam butterfly. Not often offered for sale from this region, collectable sub-species and ideal for trade applications creating unique one off pieces.
