Taxonomy Identification: Family Nymphalidae. First named by Cramer in 1775
Colour: The topside (recto) wings of the male are pale cream-brown with patterned black margins. The underside is very pale silvery-blue with darker brown/black patterns.
Size: Wingspan 50-60mm
Comments & Applications: A well known glider butterfly from subsaharan Africa, widespread but not often offered for sale. Both collectable and useful in craft and art applications, research, etc.
