Taxonomy Identification: Family Nymphalidae, first named by Westwood in 1850.
Colour: Female is black with white markings, underside similar but paler. The male is cream coloured with a black margin, underside (verso) sandy-yellow.
Size: Wingspan Male 55-60mm – Female 65-80mm
