Taxonomy Identification: Family Pieridae, first named by Kenrick in 1909
Colour: Topside (recto) wings are white with a broad black border. The underside (verso) wings are also white with a black border, but with additional red stripe on hindwing and yellow bar on forewing.
Size: Wingspan 40-45mm
Comments & Applications: A small dainty butterfly, stunning colours, one of the many delias species, very similar to Delias bothwelli. A popular butterfly for framing, domes, artwork, photography, interior design and film.
