Taxonomy Identification: Family Pieridae, Delias first named by Eschscholtz in 1821
Colour: Topside (recto) wings are black with white markings on the forewings and yellow patch on hindwings; Underside (verso) similar but with more extensive yellow and white and central red patch. Highly variable with multiple sub-species.
Size: Wingspan 60-75mm
Comments & Applications: A beautiful Delias butterfly commonly called the Malayan Jezebel. A collectable species useful in art craft and taxidermy applications.
