Taxonomy Identification: Family Pieridae, First named by Fruhstorfer in 1902
Colour: Topside (recto) is mainly white with intermittent black. The underside (verso) hindwing is yellow and white with large red marginal spots. The verso forewing is mainly white with black apex and white streaks.
Size: Wingspan 60-70mm
Comments & Applications: A colourful and popular butterfly within the trade used extensively for framing, domes, artwork, photography, interior design and film. Commonly called the Painted Jezebel butterfly.
