Taxonomy Identification: Family Pieridae, First named by Wallace in 1867
Colour: Topside (recto) forewings are black with greyish white patches or spots, absent in some sub-species. The recto hindwings are black with a large area of yellow and red upper margin. The underside (verso) wings coloured similar, normally with more vivid red upper margin.
Size: Wingspan 60-75mm
