Taxonomy Identification: Family Pieridae, first named by Linnaeus in 1767
Colour: Wings black, yellow and white on the topside (recto) of the male, with vivid yellow hindwing and red collar on the underside. The female is similar but with much more orange on the topside.
Size: Wingspan 65-70mm
Comments & Applications: One of the many delias species of butterfly this is a particular attractive butterfly and perfect for insect framing, domes, artwork, photography, interior design and film. A rare subspecies from Java seldom offered for sale. Common name in english the redbase Jezebel butterfly.
