Taxonomy Identification: Family, Nymphalidae, First named by Hewitson in 1855
Colour: The base colour of the topside (recto) wings is black with iridescent blue bars. The underside (verso) forewing is bared in red, black and grey-white, while the verso hindwing is much “busier” with black lines splashed and black spots.
Size: Wingspan 43-50mm
