Taxonomy Identification: Family Heliconiinae, Named by Linnaeus in 1758
Colour: Colouration topside (recto) surface layer of the wings is deep orange in colour with black streaks. The underside (verso) of the wings is brown and speckled with silvery white dots.
Size: Wingspan 60-70mm
Comments & Applications: A common species throughout the Neotropical region. Commonly called the Gulf Fritillary. Always a popular species because of its vibrant colouration and amazing silver dots.
