Taxonomy Identification: Family Lucanidae. Named by MacLeay in 1819.
Colour: Jet black throughout – overall shiny appearance.
Size: Overall length measuring from tip of jaw to the end of the abdomen, but excluding antenna and legs: 65-80mm. Specimens are supplied on a card base.
Comments & Applications: Huge tropical stag beetles. Incredible insects perfect subject for the arts and design industry, photography, film, entertainment and educational purposes.
