Taxonomy Identification: Family Cerambycidae > Prioninae, First named by Guérin-Méneville in 1844
Colour: Head black with large eyes.Legs reddish brown. Thorax and elytra reddish brown. Antenna black.
Size: Length measuring from tip of head/jaw to end of abdomen but excluding legs 60-65+mm.
Comments & Applications: A large impressive species of Prioninae commonly called the “sugarcane stemborer”. It’s large size lends itself to taxidermy wall art, frames and domes. Also ideal for closeup photography, film, entertainment or educational purposes
