Taxonomy Identification: Family Geometridae. First named by Cramer in 1779
Colour: The topside (recto) base colour black with yellowish-white almost transparent patches and splashes of colour. Abdomen black with horizontal yellow lines. Underside (verso) similar.
Size: Wingspan 75-85mm
Comments & Applications: A stunning black and yellow day flying moth, often mistaken for a butterfly. Commonly known as Peacock Jewel or 4 O’Clock Moth.
