Taxonomy Identification: Family Danaidae, first named by Westwood 1851
Colour: (Topside) Wings have a base colour of brown with white patches. Underside (verso) is similar but with large area of intricate patterns in fine black lines.
Size: Wingspan 65-75mm
Comments & Applications: A species from the Danaidae or Milkweed family of butterflies found in the Central African Republic. Commonly called the African Palmfly butterfly. An unusual species, not often offered for sale popular among collectors and an ideal butterfly for framing, domes, artwork, photography, interior design and film.
