Colour: Overall colour is chestnut brown.

Size: Length measuring from the tip of the head/jaw to the end of the abdomen but excluding the legs and antenna: 40-60mm

Comments & Applications: This rare beetle is Europes largest longhorn species and the only European species in the monotypic genus Ergates. Adult are active from late July to early September, in pine forested areas. Distributed in Central and South Europe, Caucasus and Turkey. A collectable species also the ideal subject for artwork, photography, framing, interior design, film, entertainment or educational purposes
