Taxonomy Identification: Family Lycaenidae, Named by Godart in 1824
Colour: Colouration topside (recto) black with dark blue patches, hind-wing margin edged in yellow. The underside (verso) hind-wings are dark brown-black with yellow edged hindwing and red spot.
Size: Wingspan 40-50mm
Comments & Applications: An absolutely stunning butterfly from the Neotropical region. Commonly called the Mexican Cycadian butterfly. Not often offered for sale, collectable and ideal for creating unique one off connoisseur pieces.
