Taxonomy Identification: Family Dynasidae, First named by Castelnau in  1867

Colour: Head, prothorax and legs jet black. Elytra blackish-brown

Size: Length from end of jaw/horn to end of the abdomen but excluding legs 53-56mm

Comments & Applications:  A rare collectable species, seldom offered for sale. A nice subject for artwork, photography, framing, interior design, film, entertainment or educational purposes
