Taxonomy Identification: Family Nymphalidae, first named by Gaede in 1916
Colour: Topside (recto) wings black with blue patches, and yellowish bar on the forewing. The underside (verso) wings have a base colour of olive-buff with various black spots and a large pinkish patch. Wing apex ends in a pale cream bar.
Size: Wingspan 80-90+mm
Comments & Applications: A unusual collectable African butterfly. Commonly called the unmarked pink forester butterfly. Seldom offered for sale; ideal for study, craft, design and trade applications.
