Taxonomy Identification: Family Nymphalidae, first named by

Colour: Topside (recto) wings black with dark blue patches a golden yellow bar on forewing apex. The underside (verso) base colour varies from buff to orange brown. Vivid blush-pink patch. Verso edged with large marginal black spots.

Size: Wingspan 85-100mm

Comments & Applications: A beautiful African butterfly not often offered for sale. Commonly called the Janetta Themis Forester. A rare collectable species and also popular for framing, domes, artwork, photography, interior design and film.
