Taxonomy Identification: Family Nymphalidae, first named by Linnaeus in 1763
Colour: The female wings are a deep blue with vivid orange-yellow bar on forewing while the hind-wings are brown overlaid with a purple hue. The underside wings are olive green with pale white markings and small black spots.
Size: Wingspan 75-90mm
Comments & Applications: A widespread butterfly from Central African Republic; seldom offered females for sale. Euphaedra are sought after collectors species and also popular for framing, domes, artwork, photography, interior design and film.
