Taxonomy Identification: Family Nymphalidae, first named by Hewitson in 1865
Colour: Topside (recto) wings orange with black wing margins infilled with white spots and dashes. The underside (verso) is similar but paler.
Size: Wingspan 70-80mm
Comments & Applications: A beautiful African butterfly not often offered for sale. Commonly called the Orange Forester butterfly. A collectable species and also popular for framing, domes, artwork, photography, interior design and film.
