Taxonomy Identification: Family Nymphalidae, first named by Sharpe in 1891

Colour: (Topside) Black with vivid deep blue patches and  yellowish-gold bar.  The underside of the wings are pale olive brown with small black spots; faint white bar.

Size: Wingspan 70-80mm

Comments & Applications: A beautiful and seldom offered butterfly from Central African Republic. Euphaedra are sought after collectors species and also popular for framing, domes, artwork, photography, interior design and film.
